Functional Bathroom Ideas

Your bathroom is one of the few rooms in your home where your style can be all your own. It is also generally a small room that fills up quickly. We have found several ideas that are extremely successful at making this small room feel much larger and be more functional. Here are just a few of them:

Open Space Designs – Using an open design can help to open the space in the room. It will make your bathroom feel much larger and generally will be more comfortable. You won’t feel cramped in a space that is typically very limited.  This design works for either a small space; replace the tube with a shower and enclosed with glass.  For a large space like a master bathroom incorporate a standing tube, in addition to a walk-in shower; be sure to use glass to keep the space open.

Small vanities or no pedestal basins – A small bathroom can be outfitted with a floating vanity, the provide some storage without making the space feel cramp.

Wall toilet paper holder – You can build a simple toilet paper holder that will hold spare rolls of toilet paper on the wall. This wooding toilet paper holder we found is perfect for small spaces.  The wood can be painted or stained your favorite color, this can keep this necessity out of cabinets and out as a decoration to match your bathroom décor.

Barn Doors  –  To maximize character in your master bedroom, consider a high-style sliding barn door for entry into the bathroom. Here, a bright and airy bedroom is home to a white, weathered barn door that accompanies the light color palette throughout.

Giving the illusion of more space in your bathroom, as well as finding new and interesting ways to utilize the space you have can make your bathroom a much nicer place. It only requires that you think outside the box and look for opportunities to make old things new and new things do more.
